Vacancies

Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools welcome application for all staff vacancies from enthusiastic and ambitious candidates who share our commitment to excellence.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC

A unique opportunity will arise in August 2010, on the resignation of Helen Mitchell after 23 years of outstanding service, for a Director of Music to lead and co-ordinate the teaching of music and associated extra-curricular activities at the Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools. The successful candidate is likely also to be Head of Music at The Mary Erskine School. Candidates will be well qualified graduates and experienced teachers, who combine high standards of musicianship with management skills and enthusiasm for their subject and for young people. Applicants should be registered, or eligible for registration, with the GTC. The Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools comprise Stewart's Melville College, The Mary Erskine School and The Junior School. Stewart's Melville College is linked to The Mary Erskine School in a unique arrangement whereby the schools’ Sixth Forms are twinned. The schools are governed by the Erskine Stewart’s Melville Governing Council. A letter of application, enclosing a full CV and the details of two referees, should be sent by Friday, 19th February 2010 to the Principal, The Mary Erskine School, Ravelston, Edinburgh EH4 3NT, from whom further particulars may be obtained.
